Main Function
Responsible for assuring all guests are greeted and treated with excellent hospitality. Administrates
restaurant reservations and controls the flow of guests into the restaurants/buffet areas.
In accordance with MSC philosophy, all team members work together sharing in a common goal of a
successful and innovative cruise line. Team members are to demonstrate integrity, fairness and
honesty.
Qualifications
Must be able to utilize a computerized reservation and table management system.
Previous Waiter/Assistant Waiter experience with MSC or a minimum of 6 months working
experience as a Host/Hostess for a shore side restaurant is considered a major advantage.
Knowledge of food and beverage products and terminology.
Experience with computerized reservation and/or table management systems is preferredm.
Passionate about hospitality and customer service driven.
Certificates
National Seaman's Book
Basic Safety Training Certificate including Swimming & Rowing
Security Awareness Training for all seafarers
Training of Passenger Ship Personnel
Medical certificate including Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol Test
Vaccination certificates (Covid-19, Yellow fever, MMRV)
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with achieving departmental guest satisfaction targets and food and beverage revenues
by controlling guest flow and seating to achieve maximum turns in the outlets.
Ensures that podium and reservation desk is properly set-up for each meal period and for the
expected levels of business.
Take restaurant reservations according to company guidelines.
Answers telephones and manages guest’s dining requests (i.e. special occasion, dietary
requirements, seating preferences, etc.)
Manages reservations and seating with a computerized reservation and table management
system.
