Main Function

To assist the general cleaning, sanitizing and supply of minibars in Guest cabins.
Maintain an inventory of minibars.

Fundamentals of position The principal job of the Minibar attendant is to clean and sanitize the minibar, check and supply the minibar, maintain an inventory and report any damage to the Housekeeper.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in oral and written English (working & Safety language of the Company)
  • Ability to speak, read and write other languages (German, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Russian, Chinese etc.) is considered a major advantage that could eventually influence the selection for some positions.
  • Experience as a cabin steward or minibar attendant. Knowledge of beverages and accountancy is an advantage.
  • Non-Smoker
  • Minimum 12 months 4-star hotel or resort service (including Job Training), or one completed contract in this position, or as Mini Bar attendant on a vessel of this or other Cruise company) an international Cruise Ship or a minimum of 6 months
  • Certificates

  • National Seaman's Book
  • Basic Safety Training Certificate including Swimming & Rowing
  • Security Awareness Training for all seafarers
  • Training of Passenger Ship Personnel
  • Medical certificate including Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol Test
  • Vaccination certificates (Covid-19, Yellow fever, MMRV)
  • MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To perform all duties in the assigned section in compliance with MSC SANITATION STANDARDS protocols.
  • Share the daily responsibility with the assistant Minibar attendant for the daily delivery of all required items to the cabin Attendant.
  • Collect all minibar-bills signed by the guests from the Cabin Attendant and organize a one-for-one replacement of all items requested (and therefore consumed by Guests)
  • Maintain an inventory of minibar items one per week for the Housekeeper, noting any damage or breakage mentioned by Cabin personnel.
  • Every evening at time specified by housekeeper, take all charged (signed) bills to the accounting office.
  • Follow the scheduled of housekeeper of days and times to visit the provisions store to re-new stock of all minibar items as required.
  • To assist the Cabin Attendant (if expected) with all duties until completed.
  • To remain on station at times (if required) to ensure continuing service for Guests.
