Main Function

  • To sell Shore Excursions and to support the Manager in leading the team to sell by positive selling techniques
  • To assist the Shore Excursions Manager in the general operation of the Shore Excursion Office
  • Escorting tours ashore
  • Qualifications

    The right person for this job should have:
  • A full understanding and working knowledge of the Fidelio Cruise system. Re-training will be provided by MSC.
  • Dynamic, adaptable, outgoing and highly motivated, able to work in sometimes stressful situations for long hours at difficult times of the day or night; able to solve problems diplomatically and quickly and win the trust and confidence of Guests.
  • Outgoing personality, able to get along with a variety of personalities, well organized and open minded.
  • Leadership mindset
  • Able to follow direction with detail and care and work well to deadlines.
  • Certificates

  • National Seaman's Book
  • Basic Safety Training Certificate including Swimming & Rowing
  • Security Awareness Training for all seafarers
  • Training of Passenger Ship Personnel
  • Medical certificate including Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol Test
  • Vaccination certificates (Covid-19, Yellow fever, MMRV)
  • MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the Excursions Desk/s are never left unattended. Be present at the desk during opening hours to sell and supervise the Shore Excursions team.
  • Manage complaints on the spot, resolving problems immediately – remembering always the company’s revenue and Guests satisfaction objectives.
  • Problems requiring intervention beyond your capabilities must be referred without delay to the Shore Excursions Manager.
  • Be careful with refunds. Try to resolve Guests problems encountered, but in difficult situations refer to the Shore Excursions Manager.
  • Replace the Shore Excursions Manager if absent and be able to assist the Manager with the paperwork (ex: daily/weekly reports), Team Coordination, Pre cruise/pre-shift team operational and revenue meeting, communication with the tour operators.
  • Write department reports; oversee set-up, breakdown and execution of event activities and ensure smooth executions of the team duties.
