Main Function
Responsible for musical selection for daily discotheque and pool activities. General assistance
to the Head Entertainment Technician in the operation of the technical Entertainment services &
facilities, and the operation of these facilities for Cruise Director or appointee.
Qualifications
Fluent in spoken and written English & Italian.
Ability to communicate in Portuguese, Spanish and French is desirable for all regions.
Proven organizational skills in musical and technical entertainment supervision, on board
either an internationally trading Cruise Ship or a large multinational entertainment complex.
Competence in the management and maintenance of audio, video, lighting and electronic
equipment associated with the entertainment equipment of the assigned ship.
Ability to work with Windows-based computers programs including Microsoft Power Point
and Excel.
Competence in professional music software is desirable.
Proven ability to work in a harmonious productive team environment.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily updating for the Head Entertainment Technician the inventory of all Sound, Light,
Video and Theatrical equipment, recording all loss, breakage, addition or replacement and
dates relating to the inventory.
Attend any planning or operational meetings held by the Head Entertainment Technician.
If required by the Head Entertainment Technician, attendance at rehearsals for musicians,
entertainment personnel.
Assist where possible to ensure that all performances and events commence precisely on
time.
If required by the Head Entertainment Technician, assist with technical direction and
management of all performances in the main show lounge or other specified area every
day.
Prepare for and direct any secondary or simultaneous performance in any other area of the
Ship.
If required by the Head Entertainment Technician, inspect daily all sound and lighting
equipment in use, reporting to him any technical deficiencies, loss or damage, ensuring, if
required by the Head entertainment Technician or in case of his absence, that appropriate
shipboard technical personnel are advised in the case of major technical faults that may
require engineering intervention.
Operate the technical equipment daily to provide the video program advertised in the daily
program, exactly on time, to specified areas of the ship (Cinema, Lounges, Pubs/Bars, etc),
except passengers and crew cabins.
Provide the 24-hour background music program to all Public Areas, except passengers and
crew cabins and corridors, in the specified musical categories, according to the planning
compiled by the Cruise Director and the number of channels or technical equipment
available, ensuring the music is non-repetitive and of good quality.
Ensure compliance with the no-smoking regulations as they apply to musicians, dancers,
entertainment personnel in order to prevent risk of fire.
Ensure the safekeeping of all removable equipment and material including microphones,
portable tape and disc players, videos and compact disks.
On behalf of the Head Entertainment Technician, manage the inventory of background
music and videos for entertainment, advising the Cruise Director of any loss, damage or
variation.
Provide, set up and test the facilities for conventions and common interest talks or
presentations in specified areas. These events include (but are not limited) Orientation
talks, Safety talks and Demonstrations, Travel talks and video/slide/overhead
presentations, Disembarkation talks, Speeches and other presentations by the Master, Cruise Director or other personnel as advised.
