Main Function
Be responsible of the coordination of all events on board
Be the point of contact for group leaders, wedding couples and commercial operators
Be in charge of the daily coordination of the International Host-Hostess team for events
duties only.
Qualifications
High School. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or events related field is
preferred.
Ability to communicate fluently in written and oral English plus two (2) other languages.
Working knowledge of computers, Internet access and Fidelio Cruise operations.
Proven and documented experience and expertise in the hospitality industry and specifically in
event management for at least 1 year, on board or ashore./p>
Experience of life on board this or other Cruise Company: preferably 2 contracts./p>

Basic Safety Training Certificate including Swimming & Rowing
Security Awareness Training for all seafarers
Training of Passenger Ship Personnel
Medical certificate including Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol Test
Vaccination certificates (Covid-19, Yellow fever, MMRV)
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily management of on board events programs, in compliance with Company procedures and any further instructions received from the Corporate Office. Any activity carried out is to be detailed in the EC end of cruise report.
Review and process all events programs and provide any lastminute arrangement
required, to calculate additional costs as needed. Produce and send departmental
instruction for event planning, making sure that any lastminute adjustment is noted by
involved parties. Maintain an optimal interaction with all departments. In absence of the
purser on duty, direct operators in preparing venues, equipment etc.
Work with department heads to plan function details such as space requirement, stage
usage, set-up/dismantling time schedules, F&B services etc. and assign International
Host-Hostess as necessary.
Assist the Guest Relations Manager in his daily duties.
Produce all commercial-related welcome letters and weekly reports as per procedures,
and make sure that all info loading is punctually carried out through OpNet
Coordinate the different departments involved in the events/groups operations
Ensure commercial operators and wedding couples satisfaction by providing them with all
aspects of their events requirements, for their enjoyment in a consistent and effective
manner
Solve any issue on the spot and promptly convey pending problems according to their
nature, keeping in mind that a problem solved immediately can endear the Guest to MSC
Cruises. When the issue cannot be solved on the spot, manage any event-related complains and incidents through the Fidelio Complaints Management System.
Supervise commercial ship inspections and provide reports to the Corporate Office,
reminding the inspecting group that all requests must convey to their office referent, to be
formalized and replied appropriately.
Be prepared with answers for the most common questions on Life on Board, extending
tact and positive general assistance to all Guests on board.
Be prepared and creative enough to promote any revenue service which might be linked
to event planning for any Guest life milestones (birthdays, anniversaries, theme and
national festivities etc) with special caterings, gifts at ship shops etc.
Complete the handover documents and forms required for the incoming EC before disembarking.
