Main Function

Security of the vessel, passengers, crew and visitors. The CCTV Operator is responsible to operate and monitor the CCTV systems and Man Overboard Systems to report to the SSO any activity that can jeopardize the safety and security of the Vessel along with supporting the Bridge and Security Team on duty

Qualifications

STCW as per ISPS Code and all certification in force at engagement time

Basic understanding of the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS)

Skills and ability to recognise, understand and deal with potential security threats

Fully qualified with a proven record of competence for the position

Trained in CCTV operations by the CCTV Manufacturer

To work shifts as directed by the SSO

Performs other, related, duties as assigned or as directed

An above-average level of fitness and skills in tactful, diplomatic crisis and problem solving

Excellent English language skills, both written and oral

Read, understand and comply with the Standing Orders of the Master, the Ship Security Plan

(SSP), Security Standard Procedures and other Standard Procedures that impact the security operation

Certificates

National Seaman's Book

Basic Safety Training Certificate including Swimming & Rowing

Security Awareness Training for all seafarers

Training of Passenger Ship Personnel

Medical certificate including Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol Test

Vaccination certificates (Covid-19, Yellow fever, MMRV)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Always wear the supplied uniform , except when exercising in the gym or going on shore leave

The CCTV Operator is responsible to operate and monitor the CCTV systems and Man Over Board Systems to report to the SSO any activity or suspicious that can jeopardize the safety and security of the Vessel along with supporting the Bridge and Security Team on duty

Protect the company's assets and to assist the onboard and shore-side management in ensuring the safety and security of the Passengers, Crew, and the Ship

Have a well-developed understanding of the operation and management of CCTV recording and monitoring equipment

Conduct live monitoring of ship operations as required by the Chief Security Officer and SSO Immediately report to the Bridge and Security Team on duty any real time security and safety observations

Conduct retrospective reviews of incidents or accidents relating to the Ship/Crew/Passengers and prepare reports as required

Assist and train other camera/system users such as officers from the Bridge and Engine Control Room

Report to the SSO and Chief Security any malfunctioning of surveillance equipment to the Surveillance Manager

Complete a daily log and handover of shift
