Qualifications
Understanding ship and maritime security operations and needs.
Ability to deal with people of different nationalities in a professional, human-oriented, and effective manner.
Proactive, take initiative, well organized, and willing to follow instructions.
Abilities to work efficiently independently, as well as in a team, as required.
Ability to work in challenging environments, onboard and at port facilities.
Very good ability in verbal communication in the English language.
Computer literate.
At least intermediate spoken and written English language level (B1 level minimum)
Resistance to stress
Ability to operate gadgets: tablet, smart phone and specialized ones.
Ability to work with an X-ray apparatus
Good physical shape
Effective team worker
Ability to operate onboard and in port facilities during day and night, in Central and South American countries.
Ability to properly work and communicate with security personnel of various nationalities, and personalities.
Well-organized and efficient in security-related responsibilities.
Diligent, attentive to details, and results oriented.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Containers’ verification- Checking the bolt seals and the vents’ stickers of the containers for any anomalies.
Seal Team Portal: Uploading the correct input to the system following the correct procedures based on each scenario.
Vessel Security- Securing the vessel during the transit to Ecuador and Peru, during the anchorage, and during the port stays (whenever there is no loading operation).
Equipment- Safeguard the company’s equipment.
Safety- Always work in a safe environment. Use the Personal Protection Equipment and follow the safety instructions by the Team Leader, the SSO on the vessel, and the Port Safety Officers.
Overall Security- Always maintain a high level of vigilance of the surrounding area of the operations.
Reliability- Always follow the instructions of the Team Leader and/or the Operations Supervisor.
